Decolorization of Reactive Black 5 Using N-Doped TiO2

Decolorization of Reactive Black 5 (RB5) was investigated by heterogeneous photocatalysis using N-doped TiO2. TiO2 photocatalysts were synthesized means a sol-gel process. X-ray diffraction performed the characterization samples, scanning electron microscopy and photoelectron spectroscopy measurements. Photocatalytic activity samples assessed following decolorization degradation efficiency RB5. N-TiO2(3) sample yielded highest efficiency. The apparent first-order rate constants for RB5 with N-TiO2(X) followed order > N-TiO2(2) N-TiO2(4) N-TiO2(1). Improvement observed doping nitrogen. effect actual sunlight on also investigated. 96% 49% levels attained within 60 minutes reaction time outdoor fluorescent daylight lamps, respectively.
